#FPS drops after 20/30 minutes in

Hi! I've been using complementary unbound shaders - high (default) profile and i usually get 70fps stable with my gpu under 70%, also 10gb allocated to minecraft, when i start playing the game, after around 20 minutes my fps drop badly, I realized it has something to do when my RAM drops from 70% back to 30% (i guess ram just cleared itself), but that generates a lag spike (normal since it's a large modpack i guess) and then takes 5 fps until i start getting only 30 fps after 20 minutes have passed.

I already tried some stuff to fix this without success:

  • Restart video drivers
  • Restart chunk rendering
  • fix fullscreen resolution, change to windowed, etc.
    -change vsync on and off.
    -close everything in my pc...

One thing i DID notice, is my gpu usage goes from 70% to 25% while around 30 fps, so it must mean something is preventing my pc from using all its resources, any solutions?

  • Dont use the "Overwolf" version of the Curseforge launcher... if you are using the CF launcher. It's bugged. The "Standalone" version is OK.
  • Try ZGC Generational (will paste those options next)

Wait, so there's a standalone cf app?

Yes, on their website:

#

And the ZGC args I mentioned: -XX:+UseZGC -XX:+ZGenerational

#

idk where to put those in CF launcher... I don't use it.

Bet, I'll give it a shot after I wake up, I already shut down my PC.

I'll update soon

well... at least it's not 30 fps anymore 😂

#

but it is still capped at 60 🤔

Capped? Sure you didn’t set a limit, or turned on vsync, in the video settings?

#

I mean, it’s valid to set those, depending on preference… just not when you’re expecting to see your fps be as high as possible.
