Crash report please.
Just copy paste the latest crash report file. Should be in the “crash-reports” folder of your MC instance.
Ouch. Something wrong with the Java install, or game somehow installed severely wrong. xD.
You are on a newish mac, right? Something with an “M” chip, yes?
yes
Ok, so far so good.
Let’s try something simple to check your Java install.
In a terminal windows what do your get in response to the command java -version?
Might have to also try that with two dashes; I forget.
alr
The operation couldn’t be completed. Unable to locate a Java Runtime.
Please visit http://www.java.com for information on installing Java.

with both 1 and 2 dashes
maybe i enterred it wrong?
entered
Not necessarily a problem… just means this Java binary is not in your shell path. Forget this part for now; no worries.
okay
How’d you install AoF7 (or is it 6?). What launcher are you using
curseforge
its 6 also
idk i just liek aof6 over all the other ones
theres smth abt it that i can figure out i just love it
any idea?
6 is fun, no argument there. :-)
As to your problems… maybe a fresh reinstall?
If that doesn’t work, maybe try a different launcher?
Hard to know from that hard crash… usually see crash reports from a game that was running.
I’ll double check on my Mac later on… pretty sure I’ve run AoF6 on it.
Afaik, no launchers have anything… they all are downloading packs and mods from where they are hosted on CurseForge or Modrinth.
That said, I’ve always liked Prism launcher.
ok so i ended up switching to prism launcher, and i know this is definetly the most easy to fix problems but its saying "
This instance is not compatible with Java version 21.
Please switch to one of the following Java versions for this instance:
Java version 17
Go to instance Java settings to change your Java version or disable the Java compatibility check if you know what you're doing." when trying to launch it
any ideas on how to fix htat
Ah… there is a check box setting in Prism to allow using Java versions newer than what a particular version of MC was meant for.
I’m mobile now, can’t screen shot it.
ok uhh
wheres the check box at
wait
"Skip Compatability checks"?
ok i turned it on
surely nothing too bad could come out of this
Ok imcompatible mods found
awesome
yeah idk where said check box is
In Prism, select your AoF instance, click the edit button on the right, then go to the settings tab on the left, and it's there, in the "Java" tab.
and what do i do in the java tab?
i feel really dumb
i turned on auto detect
it didnt owkr
??
im solost
Ah. Ok, next problem then—an no worries, this one is easy.
alrighty
Add the CF API key to Prism.
That will let Prism download 100% of the mods needed for AoF to work.
how do i do that again
where is that
ok wait
where do i downloadf that
ok so i put t
You will def want add the CF API key in the prism settings so that it doesn't need to download some mods through a web browser.

$2a$10$bL4bIL5pUWqfcO7KQtnMReakwtfHbNKh6v1uTpKlzhwoueEJQnPnm
i put this in
curseforge core ap9i
api
?
just like thie picture in that post I linked to.
Yes, that's right.
Now... install AoF again. (sorry, should have brought up the API key thing earlier; I forgot)
okay okay
OK IT WORKED IM IN
ok
ok
OK
now i just need to see if it lets me play singleplayer
ok yeah waht the frick
it didnt work
Process crashed with exitcode 6.
That is wild/mystifying. Java certainly seems to be having a big fit.
That's the crash log from inside AoF6 install folder? It's not how such a crash from a running game would normally look.
no i just copied and pasted the one i got
ill
go get that one
ok where am i going again because last time i tried getting it from the folder there were only a bunch of ones from march
whats the name of the folder
Um... in Prism, select your AoF6 install, and to the right, lower than "Edit", is a "Folder" button. Click that
Then go inside the 'crash-reports' folder, and paste the newest one here.
crash. report folder... right..
ok i know there
is supposed to be something
its not i nthe minecraft folder
show me the inside of the minecraft folder
Huh.
if only playing multiplayer is what it comes down to, thats fine, surely ill find a way to make a server for only me
Best I can guess so far is that java install is bad.
alright
Which is weird....
so do i just reinstall minecraft altogether?
....cause it's using the one vanilla MC uses; I've don that too and had no problem.
Can always download a new java. Maybe that'll work.
alright
okay idk if youll see this or not but it didnt work
i might as well just make a private server
any ideas on how to do that
for free
@soft island
Oh, um... idk of any free hosting for an mc server.
Well, Yoosk uses Oracle Free and says it's alright. I've not tried it though.
It is pretty good for running an MC server, but it requires knowledge of setting up a server using the command line. You can get 24GB of RAM and 4 vCPUs for free on an ARM system.
