Images relevant. They see the connection reset error, but their player/user/whatever entity remains online, unable to move, and is even able to die.
The problem here isn't the Connection Reset error itself, but the unusual effect of the player showing up online even after the server's kicked them.
This was experienced in real time - I am in a call with the affected player stoatunquote at the moment. Will grab client logs in a bit.

They were kicked a little bit before they were slain by the orc boss, then the kick actually hit server-side
