is there a work around? I have been placing inferium farmland for weeks and all of a sudden I start getting game crashes this week.

nope. just placing inferium farmland down.
I cleared my local installation of AOF and reinstalled and it seemed to have remediated the issue
I was able to place the farmland without the client crashing.

do you also have a crashlog? just so i can see what all is being called leading up to it?

ok, i found the actual issue and reported in the issue i listed. its an easy fix if the dev is actually still supporting their mod 🙂

I am still supporting it, I was just busy with other stuff 
The latest update of the mod should have fixed the issue, and if it didn't please let me know on the issue tracker or even here 😁
I believed I used a bit of a different approach than you suggested, sooo if my one has any holes I'll patch them up as soon as I can and release a hotfix 👍
