I'm looking for information on pregenning the world,

For context It's on a multiplayer world, in AOF5 2.0.4

What's the pros/cons

Can it be done on a world that has already been played on?

How is it done?

And how long would it normally take?

Pros

  • reduce cpu stress on the server = less lag
  • smoother player navigation on said chunks
    Cons
  • depending on size, it can take a long time pregenning
  • bigger map size

  • Yes

How is it done?

  • add the mod of choice to your server (Chunky, Fabric Chunk Pregenerator, etc) and follow commands,
    I suggest no one joining the server while its pregenning

And how long would it normally take?

  • As said earlier, it depends on size and cpu power, hold yourself for some hours
