This is a moderated place to collect blurbs about current HoF or All-Amne games in contention for the On-Server Archive. These blurbs can be written by ST's or players in the game, and should talk about why others should vote for this game into the On-Server Archive. Please limit these blurbs to a maneagable length (will have a character limit if needed) so that it's somewhat readable.

To add these blurbs, DM me (gator) please!

Regular & Experimental Games

star-crossed-savants by AdorableQuilava
An Atheist game with a primarily mechanical solve revolving around an Amnesiac ability and the Savants; A game with lore and flavor text of a space vessel supposedly invaded and attacked by an alien threat, and the 'helpful' AI of 'QUILL' manipulating events, and the reveal of the truth using the two knave savants (one who learned only the truth and one who learned only falsehoods. In the end, the group pieced together the truth and ejected the storyteller out into space and into the Midnight Oasis black hole.

the-day-the-music-died by Axolator
A rerack of a previous game of Speedy Nights (where Kisa the Fang Gu outed to Vix the Golem), this game served as the origin of several still-recurring bits on the server, the most prominent being when Adorable Quilava the evil Gunslinger shot Kisa the Minstrel after town had gotten AI the (now-sober) Goblin on the block, forcing town to spend almost every ghost vote to lift him on short notice.

blahajs-reign-of-terror-🦈 by Axolator and Nexus
After tormenting the server for several text games, Blåhaj (yes, the IKEA shark plushie) ran a text game on the Unofficial by enlisting the (unwilling) help of Axolator and Nexus (along with willing grim artist De). The outed-Atheist game had the entire town collaborating to figure out which person was the secret Demon who believed they were a good character, and featured (among other things) a puzzle to find the Mezepheles word to win with Blåhaj and a piercing betrayal near the end.

snakes-in-the-grass by bmessy

einsteins-tb by Beam and Mabel
a creative but probably unbalanced experiment where all players in TB were blinded including receiving fake prompt responses, and got one guess at their character each day. Mabel helped from kibitz until a joke led to Beam getting executed, having Mabel take over while Beam traveled in as the banished Beggar.

#golem-bureaucrat-seamstress Go read the game. Seriously, read it and come back, it is that short and you will be glad you did.
pros:

  • very short (Hall of Fame is meant to be read: this can be read in one sitting)
  • longstanding community support (post-game comments years later, 38 HoF votes)
    cons:
  • not actually a game of Clocktower

late-capitalism by Besjbo
A commintern game of NWC that came down to the wire

evil-collapsed by Besjbo
the first attempt at quantum using BMR as a script, which went poorly after the grandmother hard confirmed an evil as well as a good player, and evil’s remaining superpositions quickly collapsed. An example of well-written flavor text with hidden quantum subtleties

f💲⭐❗jurgen-leitner by Besjbo

#

the-gays-v-besjbo by Besjbo
The first and only Quantum Atheist game, where nobody received the Atheist token, a Good player outed as the Lleech, and the confused town slowly but surely put the pieces together, locked a player's superposition as Mayor, and successfully achieved a Quantum Mayor win

cleopatra-and-the-bedchamber-of-secrets by Besjbo
save-incoming-colon-three by Biscuits
A game of classic TB plus an evil scapegoat guest (Gator). A clean evil sweep, with great bluffs from Trixie, Petal, and Tater. Trixie was able to convince everyone to vote out the saint by claiming that the scapegoat would save if the saint were real. The archive name is a nod to Gator saying "SAVE INCOMING" when a save was not, in fact, coming.

minstrel-who by CaptainMorgan
Speedy Night where despite it being a Spy game, the SW and Minstrel wound up in a hard double claim after a hard-confirmed Minstrel night off the Recluse. The actual Minstrel was Clarke, so of course evil got away with it and narrowly avoided three Minstrel nights in a row

oops-all-lycan-kills by Chaos Merchant
Not much was done that evil had any control over. In spite of that, somehow this game came down to a rag-tag trio that were going against the majority, eventually finding the right solution, and winning the game as a result. Between a Vortox being Innkeeper drunk, the same player being executed 3 times for literally 0 reason, and the final day being an absolute mess where no one knew what was going on, its a miracle the game ended the way it did.

besjbo-vs-the-gays by Chris
FoR game with an extreme amount of Hannibal paranoia in final days for not being Hannibal, now best known for Besjbo being the hardest solver of the game despite being in a Mercenary pair with Mabel, leading to conflict with the pridefully all-🏳️‍🌈 evil team. The only game to have its archive name renamed by popular demand after it became a postgame meme

Origin game of the jimionette emoji! Tense and high stakes rev pairs game with shenanigans and plenty of popcorn from both sides. This is the first one with a bunch of homebrew mechanics, designed just for text.

the-infnet™-experience by EggYolk
Players created their own abilities and submitted them. Besjbo went crazy and created an entire town that we had to roam through in threads, and Velvet was the most townsolky demon ever that let dead players kept their abilities, and was overall just a really unique game experience.

how-i-learned-to-stop-worrying-and-love-the-bomb by Hannah
stop-worrying-and-love-the-bomb was a hectic and compact comintern game, with several near bomb drops, and several jokes and offers of dropping the bomb. In the 3 day there were 4 bomb drop offers, and 439 eyeshakes. This is a less serious game, and one defined by it's chaotic and insane nature.

kisa-gats-the-raed by Hannah
Kisa gets the read was a 12 player FYF with 4 different travelers. It was an absolute headache to run and includes some of the most fun and interesting social play I've seen in clocktower. It also includes chum getting roasted for making typos. It was an archivist game that evil ended up winning due to their social deception and end game strategy

de-moll-ished by Imzecorella
A game solved by Moll close to the point of being a garuanteed win. The good team won through this deduction and it shows a case of a complete solve.

hazardous-hannibal by Indigo and Nexus
This game was a great show of one of the most if not the most famous homebrew Fall of Rome. It featured a great show of an evil player dying early for social credit and it led the game through many hoops until it ended in an evil win. Also spartacus -> evil demon.

blood-anon-the-clocktower by Ivy
pros:

  • anonymous game is a unique experience that has not been replicated since (despite multiple attempts)
  • established piece of text game lore
    cons:
  • lore is primarily about the players, the vast majority of whom are no longer active community members

town-liar by jimothy
crazy Lleech game where the Politician tried to play for evil by claiming Town Crier, while the actual Town Crier who was the Lleech host decided to claim Atheist. Complete with Magician shenanigans causing the minion and demon to distrust each other, with the demon thinking he was the Lunatic and targeting himself at one point.

the first text Playtest of Face Your Fears! Jurgen Leitner madness was broken, and final day ended up with 2 alive going to 0 alive by the time evil won, leading to the name

shoe-eaters by Mabel
a chaotic Speedy Night known for its flavor text and for town’s conviction that Hannah could not be the Goblin after several other players had claimed Goblin, leading to promises of many shoes to be eaten when evil got a Goblin win

unfriendly-neighbours by Michael
the first multicolored madness game! A trifecta of crazy B3, with SNV where an unfortunate N1 Cerenovus pick led all of town to sus the demon, BMR where evil almost lost D1 to a Sailor-poisoned MM but won with the demon bluffing evil Goon, and TB where the Soldier night-killed going into F3 confirmed a Poisoner. Lots of neighbor squabbling and Jodie/Jimothy neighbors always on opposite teams led to the name

All-Amne Games

#

honey-moon-rising by Besjbo
Honey Moon Rising is the first installment in Besjbo's all-Amnesiac trilogy, and probably the very first "high-concept" Amnesiac game, featuring a Demon that put players into an escape room that changed throughout the game as players interacted with it. Where the first few Amnesiac games mixed together an interesting collection of standalone abilities (a lot like modern-day Lizards), Honey Moon Rising had a strong Valentine's Day theme and characters that riffed on BMR, making it one of the first Amne games (certainly first in text) to be built as a cohesive script. The game was hard fought: the Demon was sussed all game, but the Minions crafted incredible bluffs, with Pam reverse engineering the lore of the game to bluff learning about the escape room, driving town to execute corpses, burn down the escape room, and ultimately throwing herself under the bus to win the game for Evil.

katzenklavier by Besjbo
Sax & Violins is the third and final installment in Besjbo's all-Amnesiac trilogy. The game was run twice on this server (the first is katzenklavier, the second was deleted). This is likely the most ambitious game ever run on Unofficial, featuring original music and requiring players to engage with its thematic meaning to interpret their abilities. The cosmic horror mechanics cared not just about what you said, but what you knew, making sharing info itself terrifying, and expanded on Mythics with 12 fae-like musical instruments who could be summoned into town by offering them your name, famously leading to the community asking "wait, why did you two swap names?". With an eldritch god as a 25th player constantly approaching, and a flood of abilities, the game was intentionally as overwhelming in text as S&V is in live. Evil won the game in style, largely thanks to Kat the Politician turning the Mythics against Good, hence the archive name.

greed-eggs-and-jams by nothership and Besjbo
"Trouble Bargaining", archived as greed-eggs-and-jams for shenanigans between EggYolk, Jams, and the deadly sin of Greed, is the second installment in Besjbo's all-Amnesiac trilogy, introducing the 'Mythic' character type (a Fabled who is a player) that has since been seen in multiple Amnesiac games. Where Honey Moon Rising was gothic romantic horror, this was religious fantasy, with everyone making deals with the devil, and 7 Fabled representing the seven deadly sins, each inhabiting a layer of the puzzle-filled purgatory players had to pass through after being killed to solve what Evil was up to. This game famously culminated in Pride, played by nothership, usurping Besjbo as ST and running the final day as an Evil ST, banishing Besjbo to spend the seventh day of the game resting, as befits the theme. Largely thanks to a passionate essay from Eevee piecing together the solve, Good mustered up just enough votes to kill Jams the Demon and win the game.

forgotten-bamboozles by Nicky
The first EVER text Amnesiac game! Nicky collected idea submissions from players and kibitz alike, and chose the ones he liked best. The game ended up with a strong vote manipulation theme, with the Demon stripping people's votes, a Townsfolk doubling them, and an Outsider hiding the vote count, leading to early chaos. Sadly for Evil, Besjbo managed to convince the Demon that they were turning their choices Evil, bamboozling the Evil team to their demise.

amne-2 by Nicky
The second ever text Amnesiac game, also run by Nicky! This time, Nicky didn't take player submissions, but built the game in kibitz, and came up with a lot of fascinating roles including a Lil' Monsta-esque Demon, a Townsfolk that asked Amnesiac questions about the Demon, multiple powerful OPGs that needed to Bingo before activating, and an Outsider that made Bingoing very scary. With a lot of real and fake confirmation, this helped establish Amnes as a genre that would stick around.

Zobody ran the third ever text Amnesiac game, and is the first besides Nicky to run one. Zobody ran it in a similar fashion, creating a lot of weird roles like a Demon that picked 3 players each night and even the Demon couldn't figure out exactly what it was doing, a Minion Professor, and an incredibly strong information role that needed everyone to vote to activate. Evil was on the ropes all game, but thanks to a great fake social conflict between a Minion and an Evil Outsider, Evil came out on top.
