It is with pride that people carry the honor (and duty) of being Town Tambour. A role that exemplifies trust, those who are granted domain over the drum are seen as pillars of the community. In a long tradition of Tambours, as long as their drumming echoed through the alleyways, no ill would befall the town. In cases where the position was (for whatever reason) unoccupied, disaster ensued. All inhabitants of the town therefore carry a vested interest in keeping the position alive. However, in its current iteration, only the acting Tambour can select their successor - if they were, say, unable to name one, the position would, from one moment to another, cease to exist... My dear friend, I hope you understand what I'm getting at.

Right, Honorable, Overthrown is a custom script with one homebrew character: the Tambour. The Tambour's ability reads:

Each day, publicly choose a player: if good, they act as Tambour; else, you die tonight. Your team can't lose. [+1 Outsider]

(The script generator I used apparently doesn't print the official character icons - I'll rectify this in due time.)

Almanac Entry

The Tambour is a rotating position who protects their team from losing.

  • The Tambour isn't a player and is instead a position that is passed from player to player. Players all receive their usual character tokens.
  • Any good player can start as the Tambour, even Outsiders.
  • Players who are acting as Tambour still have their ability and can still use it to the fullest extent. The Tambour ability functions in addition to their normal ability.
  • Evil players cannot act as Tambour. If a good player tries to pass it on to an evil player, they die at night as if they didn't pass the position.
  • If the player acting as Tambour dies, so does the position. The Tambour ability stops working an may not be passed on further.
  • Players acting as Tambour may register as the Tambour and as a Townsfolk alongside and instead of their actual character.
  • If the player acting as Tambour is poisoned, so is the Tambour ability. It does not protect from losses and cannot be passed on further.
  • The Tambour is passed on immediately - players are just informed of whether they act as Tambour at night.

Examples
The Undertaker acts as Tambour. The Klutz is executed and chooses an evil player. The game continues.

The Artist acts as Tambour and chooses the Vortox. The Tambour is not passed on to the Vortox. That night, the Artist dies.

The Steward acts as Tambour and chooses the Spy. The Spy registers as good and now acts as Tambour. The Demon is executed. The game continues. The next day, the Spy doesn't choose a successor. That night, they die and good wins.
