I’m assuming Moll means that you give way more control when you choose a Demon, as opposed to being forced to double kill if you are ever successful

Each night choose whether

1. guess the in-play Demon, if correct and they kill you tonight, they die otherwise they might kill twice.
2. guess in-play minions who can probably guess who the demon are going to kill to hide then being chosen. (or a player might die that night.)

Going after killers doesn't seem like it can have a problem

You cannot ever die to your own ability so there isn't really any info to be gained of the specific night order

And giving less power to evils is more seems more along the lines of a tf to me

Or rather, it's not giving them power, it's giving them options to control worlds better

Though, if put on an Al-Hadikhia script or similar, then going before demons is probably better

It makes choosing minions more interesting at least

1. that would happen even if the Luchador acted after bc the Demon could just preempt and sink
2. you need a lot of coordination to do that

Puck

[Loric]

“Executees add 2 tokens to the bag & choose 1 alive player to draw from it: they get something good (if it’s good) or bad (if not).”

The Puck has a bag of tricks.

• When a player is executed, they secretly add 2 good tokens, 2 evil tokens, or 1 good & 1 evil token to the bag, then they choose an alive player to draw from it.
• If the drawn token is a good token, the chosen player gets something good or something good happens to them. If the drawn token is an evil token, the chosen player gets something bad or something bad happens to them.
• This happens even if the executee or the chosen player is drunk or poisoned (because the Puck is a Loric).
• The drawn token is removed from the bag and any undrawn tokens stay in the bag.
• Only alive players can draw from the Puck’s bag.
• The tokens added to the bag are arbitrary (and should be tokens that aren’t in the current script).

How to Run:
During setup, set aside good and evil character tokens that aren’t in the current script that you are playing.

When a player is executed, give them 2 good and 2 evil tokens — they add 2 to the bag and return the other 2. Then they publicly choose an alive player. The target draws 1 token from the bag — remove that token & keep the rest that are already in the bag, in the bag.

If the drawn token is a good token, the chosen player gets something good or something good happens to them. If the drawn token is an evil token, the chosen player gets something bad or something bad happens to them. (Use the ? reminders, if needed.)

2. The ST chooses the effect, so if you try to meta them, they can hit your pain points

in general in Clocktower as the game goes on evil is more likely to have a majority

while it's not always the case, in a 1 Minion game if evil never dies it goes from 2/9 to 2/3

So you are encouraged (slightly) to make the bag progressively more spiked. But ofc, I think it's generally better to help your allies than hurt your enemies as good

[Demon]

“Each night*, choose a player: they die. If you die, 1 Townsfolk neighbour, if alive, becomes an evil Nonow tonight (once). [-1 Outsider]”

The Nonow persists.

• The first time a Nonow dies, the game continues, and 1 of their Townsfolk neighbours, who are alive, becomes a Nonow and turns evil.
• This can only happen once per game. If the new Nonow dies, nothing happens.
• The new Nonow counts as the Demon, and good wins if they die. They do not learn which players are Minions.
• If a Nonow died today, a Nonow is created at the earliest opportunity at night.

How to Run:
While setting up the game, before putting the character tokens in the bag, remove one Outsider character token and add one Townsfolk character token. (If there are no Outsider tokens to remove, do not add a Townsfolk token.)

Each night except the first, wake the Nonow. They point at any player. Put the Nonow to sleep. That player dies - mark them with a DEAD reminder.

If the Nonow dies and the ONCE reminder is not in the centre of the Grimoire, mark them with the RETURNING reminder. At the earliest opportunity at night, one of their Townsfolk neighbours that is alive. Show them the YOU ARE info token, then the Nonow token, then the YOU ARE info token, then a thumbs-down. Change their character to a Nonow — swap their character token with the spare Nonow token. They become evil. Put the new Nonow to sleep. Put the ONCE reminder in the centre of the Grimoire and remove the RETURNING reminder. (Unlike “Once per game” abilities, this reminder stays there for the rest of the game. Don’t remove it, even if the Nonow dies or changes character.)

The Tailor changes evil characters when they’re brought to their shop.

• If an evil player is nominated today, they wake tonight to choose any character to become.
• They may choose not to change characters.
• If a player becomes a new character, they gain the new ability, even if it was a "you start knowing" ability or a once per game ability that had already been used.
• If a player tries to become an in-play character, they must choose a different character.
• Similarly, if they try to become a Demon when there already is one, they must choose a different character.
• Evil players wake separately when using the Tailor’s ability.
• Once a player has changed character, their previous character ability has no further effect on the game.
• If an evil player was nominated today then a player becomes the Tailor, they do not change characters tonight.
• Only characters from the current script may be chosen.

How to Run:
If an evil player is nominated, mark them with a FITTING TONIGHT reminder.

During that night, one at a time, wake each player marked FITTING TONIGHT. Show them the THIS CHARACTER SELECTED YOU info token, then the Tailor token. They either shake their head no or point to a character. If it is in play or if it is a Demon & another player is one already, shake your head no and gesture for them to choose again. Put them to sleep. Change their character to the one they chose & remove their FITTING TONIGHT reminder.

“Each nomination, votes are tallied instantly on 3, even if dead. The Storyteller can nominate & you suggest who each night.”

The Drill Sergeant puts pressure on nominations.

• As soon as a player is nominated, the Storyteller counts up “1… 2… 3” immediately. When they say “3”, any player who has their hand raised (like a normal vote for execution) votes. All votes are tallied instantly and simultaneously.
• The Storyteller can nominate any number of players, at any time, once nominations have been called.
• …but the Drill Sergeant may, at night, suggest who the Storyteller should nominate. They do this simply by pointing to any number of players.
• The Drill Sergeant keeps their ability when they die.
• Players can make nominations as normal.
• The Storyteller does not have to follow suggestions, but usually should.
• Players should freeze after the Storyteller has said “3” & not change their vote. The Storyteller is the judge on whether a player has voted on time or not.

How to Run:
Each night, wake the Drill Sergeant. They point to any number of players — mark any of them with the SUGGESTED reminder. Put the Drill Sergeant to sleep.

During the nomination process for execution, you can make nominations.

I’m a wording pedant so I think some of these can be worded or written better, but as for the gameplay:

• Puck is whimsical and yet somehow still you’re style. Cool.
• Bulwark gives me Moonchild vibes. Probably scripts the same way.
• Fashionista doesn’t affect a lot of characters but I do like the ones it interacts with
• Nonow is cool. Not 100% if I would limit the jump to a certain way of dying
• Doppelgänger is reverse Pixie. Maybe a bit stronger for that reason.
• Tailor is a fun twist on Hatter. I see the vision
• Drill Seargant, I don’t understand the Storyteller nominating thing. Feels unrelated and not super helpful unless it guarantees an anonymous nomination (try saying that 5 times fast)

For online, I would just run it the same as in person, maybe with a slower countdown if you fear lag. Just set up the nomination and say "1, 2, 3, freeze!" and then count the hands that are up.

Plunderbuzz

[Demon]

“You start knowing a trait. Each night*, choose a player: if they have it, they die. If all who do are dead, kill any 2 players.”

The Plunderbuzz kills whatever when they run out of ammo.

• The Plunderbuzz starts knowing a trait that any number of players share, but usually 2 to 5 will share it.
• If at least 1 player with the trait lives, then the Plunderbuzz cannot kill players that do not have the trait yet.
• If all players with the trait are dead, then the Plunderbuzz now chooses 2 players each night.

How to Run:
During setup, write a trait on a piece of paper, or on a phone.

During the first night, wake the Plunderbuzz. Show this trait, then put them to sleep.

Each night except the first, wake the Plunderbuzz. They point at any player. Put the Plunderbuzz to sleep. If they chose a player who has the Plunderbuzz’s trait, that player dies — mark them with a DEAD reminder.

If all players who have the Plunderbuzz’s trait are dead, mark the Plunderbuzz with the 2 ATTACKS.

If the Plunderbuzz wakes to act while marked 2 ATTACKS, they point at any two players, one at a time. In the order chosen, each chosen player dies — mark them with DEAD reminders.

I don't see them being able to guess the trait and therefore hide or interact with it much

And it then becomes a detatched minigame for the plunderbuzz rather than a integrated thing

i played a longtext game with Kukalpa on-server a while ago and so I ended up deciding to try to design around it
