Legit I think the concept has good potential, I just can’t help but notice how weak it is in practice due to at least 1/3 of the evil team always existing in F3

And how trusted players aren’t making it to F3 in most cases

Realistically speaking

This ability confirms itself to a good player

And otherwise makes F3s slightly more linear, but not really since passing to an evil will result in them lying

Meaning at best you get a 1 in 2 rather than a 1 in 3

It kinda makes final 3 much simpler if the ability gets into the last day

Bc it's mostly just "ok, is this player good?"

It also helps that a good player would never cover a Goldsmith bluff of an evil, so you know when gold is claimed that if the Goldsmith is evil, the gold claimer must be evil too

Also a living GS + GS ability in f3 is wicked strong imo

Bc if the GS has the gold, they can trust their own info, and so they don't need to trust anyone to know the demon, they just need to convince people

thats sorta the case for Goldsmith as I see it. It kinda needs to benefit from that confirmation and a different sort of social game. Otheriwse, its far weaker at winning F3s than a real Mayor

typically your efforts are about finding the Demon, not a Mayor

Like the whole point of Mayor is that you only need to decide if you trust them. If not, then you attack the Demon

and as weve established, Goldsmith is a bit more size dependent. In larger games, Goldsmith will have a very hard time smuggling gold into F3, since the Demon has more time and more kills to spare

I guess you could say that Goldsmith allows you to more explicitly connect the evidence by naming the Demon but you still need to believe the Goldsmith, just like you would with Mayor. Goldsmith makes that easier by putting 2 people in a confirmation chain, but it can include evils in it

Side Note: I do think Goldsmith is a good Mayor for Al Hadikiah scripts. Goldsmith Al Had is something I'd kinda be interested in (maybe ill make it)
