I have hundreads of games as player and 4 ST games (including 3 IRL with players that never played before), playing is more enjoyable than STing so i'm playing by default. That might be biased because 3/4th of my ST'd games are in person and i literally never played a game in person, but how easy it is to do a small mistake "without the need of " (waking the FT before choosing the red herring two games in a raw, making the drunk invest get the actual minion in the pings because i forgot where i placed the 2nd ping & brain didn't process everyone's roles). Ofc it's way easier to do this IRL than online so that's why i said that it's biased

probably, i'm almost always picking my counterclockwise neighbor to make it easier so the "find someone that won't make you lose a vote too often" is barely present, even zealot is better with dealing with votes (maybe or could be close, but i've never been the snitch)

based on recent amnesiac experiences such as this

Snitch is one of the worst characters to lie as because it's the free minion fallback

• Amnesiacs need to be able to guess their ability to stay relevant – If they fail, they waste a lot of time that could otherwise be spent on useful actions.
• Choose the type of amnesiac wisely – Go for ‘high risk, high reward’ (powerful but difficult abilities) or ‘low risk, low reward’ (simple, modest abilities), but avoid abilities that are very difficult and have little impact.
• Avoid puzzles on puzzles – Once amnesiacs discover their ability, the information that comes with it should be clear and directly applicable, not another puzzle to solve.
• Make (any) triggers simple and common – Abilities that depend on rare or complex triggers are often too difficult to guess in time and use profitably.
• Make sure you have a suitable amnesiac ability for the length of the game – a 12 player game will likely have different types of amnesiac abilities than a 7 player game. • Help amnesiacs get started with small hints – Especially in short games, it is essential to give them direction so that by the end phase they understand their ability and can actually contribute something.

The optimal play from courtier picking DA is the value you get from choosing it at 0 information: picking DA even has value even if there is no DA in play (there only needs to be one of sailor, tea lady or pacifist in play) to get value out of it. Of course, being able to pick the exact in play demon is potentially higher in value (I am not necessarily convinced it is) but that's 25% chance
