What's new?

The Atheist has been removed and replaced with the Bounty Hunter. This is because:

• Legion and Atheist can be a fairly unfun combination, in that in a Legion game, all one has to do is claim Atheist and hope for just one other good player to raise their hand, and that's lights out for good, which is quite swingy and unfun. Also, there are too many characters that have a good interaction with Legion to remove it from the script.
• Bounty Hunter was added to add a bit of extra spice to the puzzle, allowing for some misinformation in the form of an evil townsfolk while also providing some powerful info to the good team. The demons on the script gel really well with the Bounty Hunter, with the Lleech and Legion both allowing the BH to shine without completely dominating the game.

Keep in mind with Amnesiac and Legion, while the script is now much easier to run and play, it is still a script recommended for only expert storytellers.

A hush falls over the chamber as the Speaker of the House lies dead on the floor, the Hansard used to bludgeon them to death sticking out of their cracked skull like a grotesque tree stump. The senators are all shocked and appalled, until the Mayor rises to his feet and shouts "We can't let this evil be the downfall of our democracy! On with the debate!" Meanwhile, a group of hooded figures congregates at the back of the room. "The seal is opened," murmurs one of the mysterious delegates. "And soon, they will know our power."

Welcome to Separation of Church and State! The Mayor is Stormcaught and everyone's a suspect!

Good players will have a lot of info and a lot of ways to determine who is a powerful character and who is trying to deceive the town, and why... Claims will be flying out thick and fast. Even outsiders may be inclined to add their voices to the debate, using their own unique disadvantages to gain unique information. However, the evil team are crafty and are capable of some wicked trickery. The secret will be determining which information cannot be trusted - and whether it is by poison or malice.

Jinxes (updated 7/9/23)

• The Engineer and Legion cannot both be in play at the start of the game. If the Engineer chooses to make a Legion, turn a majority of players into evil Legion, including all starting evil players.
• If the Plague Doctor dies and the Scarlet Woman is not in play, the Storyteller may choose to give an alive minion the Scarlet Woman ability as well as their own ability. The chosen minion learns this.

Important Interactions

• If the Lleech host is executed when there are 5 players alive, and there is an alive Scarlet Woman in play, the Lleech dies instantly and the Scarlet Woman becomes the Lleech with 3 players alive, allowing them to kill a player that night and win the game for their team. Please let your players know of this interaction if there are ever 5 players alive during the day.

• The Assassin (or an ST with the Assassin ability) can kill the Storm Caught Mayor. (this is the only way for the Mayor to die at night, so this is a strong signal to the Mayor that the Assassin is in play.)

• When referring to the Storyteller, you must always refer to them as Mr/Madam/Mix Speaker.

What's new?

With the arrival of the Plague Doctor, their addition to this script means that the minions become more malleable in their ability to pull off bullshit, and allows an ST to conveniently wipe off a Stormcaught Mayor who has become too trustworthy while still giving the good team some info to go off. The Lunatic goes out here - the lack of Atheist means that Lunatic becomes one of the least impactful Outsiders on this script and taking it out detracts the least.

Evil Twin has to leave to avoid the boring jinx with Plague Doctor - this was also a relic of when this used to be an Atheist script. In its place is the Harpy, a minion that works extremely well with Plague Doctor, Lleech, Tinker and Scarlet Woman, so it's a no brainer addition here.

Magician gets the chop due to the fact that it was in to gel with the Lunatic for the most part, replaced with Knight which is a very powerful and useful first night role in a script with very few of them, a powerhouse in Legion games and a solid contributer against other demons, with the Widow and Scarlet Woman keeping the Knight honest.
