I've been meaning to get an actual microphone for my laptop so that my recordings will have an actually good sound and won't pickup everything during in the background. Any suggestions for affordable but good microphones?

I recommend when you are just getting started, my personal pick. Audio Technica AT-875R.

875R is a pretty solid choice, but do be aware that it's an XLR microphone, which requires an audio interface to work with a computer.
For a beginner and budget friendly option, definitely check out the Razer Seiren Mini or Neat Bumblebee II mics. They're both USB microphones with a quality that punches above their weight class in terms of price to performance. No need to spend hundreds of dollars on professional equipment until you know for sure you're committed.

Also worth noting that you'll want to look into ways to reduce sound reflections in your recording space - a bad room will sound bad no matter what mic you're using.
And don't waste your money on the cheap foam on Amazon. Or a reflection shield. Almost every mass produced "acoustic" or "soundproof" product is somewhere on the scale from a bad use of your money to an outright scam. You can check out the VA Guide for more info about room treatment.
