I play D&D here on Discord and was looking to upgrade my mic since I've been using my laptop mic forever, lol

Want smthn that won't catch much outside audio, but can pick up screams/yells. I don't have a huge budget to work with, but I can always save up for more pricey setups! Ty all <3

If you're really just looking to do voice chat and not trying to do serious voice acting, you'd be best served by a dynamic mic. I kind of don't like this company, but all the crazy audio snobs on the Podcastage server recommend the Fifine AM8 for this purpose as a good balance between audio quality and affordability.

If you don't have a ton of cash to spend on real soundproofing (which is very expensive), then the amount that your mic rejects unwanted noise is going to mostly be determined by how close you have it to your mouth. So a dynamic that's designed to be about 3 finger-widths from your mouth is ideal for that purpose.
