Hi Olivia!
First, thank you for sharing this and asking for feedback. Many people never ask for help and will always find it harder to grow.
Second, please keep in mind that these are only MY opinions and others may not agree with me. So, take it with a grain of salt.
I think I heard you say "Hello" in the beginning, but I'm not sure. It was too quiet to hear and it may have been affected by pre/post-processing of the file. I'd suggest reviewing your files before you send them.
I've never had to submit audio files in m4a format, but I wouldn't doubt someone out there in the world is asking for it. The standard audio formats for most voiceovers are MP3 (for auditions) and WAV (for lines), but there are projects out there that have different requirements, so make sure to read the spec's carefully.
For your acting:
At times in your performance, I could hear a bit of laughter/nervousness/anxiousness, and I think that is a nice choice for a softly-spoken (shy/reserved) and cheerful girl. There were some tasteful emotional/tonal changes at specific points in the read, which my ears I do appreciate. Stumbling over the words / repeating the words again AND the 'measured' rhythm of speaking gave me the impression that this character is reading something out loud. I could imagine this being in a classroom setting, a student holding a sheet of paper with words they prewrote, and presenting it to the class. The ending seems to cut off too soon before you finish. Again, make sure to double-check your audio files for errors before submitting.
For your voice:
It does sound feminine X) You say this is supposed to be a high-pitched voice, which I believe should be in the Soprano (or higher) range. This sounds like it's more in the Alto (medium) range.
Overall, without looking at the specs/project/details for the audition/character, you have some pretty good choices being made here. Some things just didn't quite 'land' for me, though.
I hope this was helpful enough and gives you some direction as to where to go from here. Keep up the great things and work on the weak things! X)
Oh lawdy! Umm... @hallow delta.... are you aware that you are now level 2? You're getting closer to... um.....
