#Difficulties Expressing Sadness in Voice Acting

I have a hard time making my sadness sound realistice when I go in to record a scene that requires crying or something similar. I have an example or two but I'm not sure how good they are. Any time I push record, it's like I have a mental block and I don't know how to break through it when I need to cry on demand. It's frustrating. Any tips on how to sound like you're realistically crying or sound genuinely sad or heartbroken would be great! Thanks!

The part where I needed to cry is further into this video at around the 8:11 minute mark.

I think you did pretty well in the first one you linked (tangles farewell), getting across emotion. The second one was a bit shaky to me, almost like you were more focused on what the script emphasized rather than what emotion would dictate a read of that line would be

I also agree with Phebe on what she said in the voice acting chat. Heavy breathing, sniffles, things that make it sound emotional
