#Modular Buildings should have orientation identifiable upon placing down structure.

Several of the current modular buildings don't provide a clarity on their orientation when being placed.
Long Range Scanner and Monument Base have no orientation provided.

Summary of current placement configuration (0.6.0.22650-635467222),
Long Range Scanner Base - can't determine which is 'front' (with display) of building.
Monument Base - can't determine which is 'front' (direction of robot) of building.
Blast Furnace - partial. Once known the stair orientation, can be determined orientation of input pipelines/upper walkway
Fracking Tower - no issue, 'panel' shown and orientation displayed during placement.
Air Intake - no issue, modular control determines 'front' facing.
Hot Air Stove - no issue, orientation displayed during placement.
Radio Tower Base - no issue, panel orientation displayed during placement.
Modular Storage Tank - no issue, omnidirectional building.

yesss this is so annoying

Totally agree. Some additional issue: It should imho also be possible to display the maximum size of the building while placing. Really annoying if you want to know how high you can go with a blast furnace while staying below max build height. Air intakes can also be an issue with them being like 25% pipeline connection that extends beyond their base

Eh i get the annoyance but at least it tells you the height during construction. Sort of result of modular buildings. If there was more options itll be less of an annoyance regardless.
The air intake id agree with, but thats more on the mesh network during construction not being accurate. Imo itll just be easier to preplace upon construction all the io ports direclty on the mesh to make it explicitly obvious.
But this suggestion specifically is just placing with a known orientation.

I get that. But one way to fix your issue could be a button that gives you a preview of the finished building in it's maximum form. And that would solve the issue I noted as well

I guess imo maximum form implies one configuration and lesser versions. What im hoping to see is different configurations. So maximum form isn't a guarantee to be possible. But right now, that'll do except a whole revamp of what the unassembled building looks like would be needed too.

To expand on this one a bit, some modular buildings extend past the footprint placement without really any indicator or awareness. This leads to frustruation, lost time, and annoyance for just lack of game information. The modular scanner has no real clarifiaction on its overall dimension, how it changes with modules and, how muhc beyond the footprint it has. Also when the error says it's bounds is restricted, there's no information or localization to inform the user. Upon exiting the modular scanner the footprint gives no information on where this conflict would be so the user is left trying various things in the hope of a solution.

#

Further clarification and dimensions in the modular building configuration is necessary to inform user. Perhaps a grey'd out environment and highlighted red conflict boxes or something similar would provide the visual information necessary to the player

( and some buildin parts have the wrong scaffolding, like the blast furnace top, the 3 vertical bith to point the loaders are on the wrong height )
