If you want to connect logistics information from different parts of a large factory you currently need to connect data cable blocks the whole way.

It would be neat if you could connect a data cable to a power pole and in that way distribute the data signals to other connected power poles. Simply add a data cable at the destination and receive all the data.

Of course, wall mounted power poles does not make much sense because of their size. I could also side with that this should be a feature for large power poles.

An alternative, if broadcasting all data signals over the whole high power network would be to costly performance wise, could be that you could run dedicated data wires between power poles.

I would rather see spacial transmitters that could transmit signals data over longer distance. And by renaming them you would be able to make dedicated wireless signal networks.
As for preventing the players to bog the game with to big and complex wireless networks you could always limit the number of transmitters that can be assigned to single network.
