#Teleporters

if only someone would write us a mod! For now we have Foundry Commands
Some games have teleports for material or for players.
Devs said there wont be any character teleport. They do not like the idea.
Would be really a shame if someone would do that ๐
Well you know moders if it can be done they will do it someday ๐ .
I agree! The escalators are still pretty much bs to roam the world. Heared them say "We do not like the idea" and I find this stupid. In all cases they are like "We are so proud it feels like Minecraft Tech Mods" - there is NO tech mod without teleportation of some kind! - Make it cool with a Portal that is expensive to craft and let it use a lot of power when used.
TRUTH is: We ALL use the "respawn" button all the time. Why? To TELEPORT!
Must be a weird truth: For example I don't use the respawn button to teleport.
I never use the respond to teleport. I agree with the devs. I think teleports ruin the immersion of games. I think a more immersive solution would be a personal jet or something the player could build and fly around
Far enough the the DEVS have said no to teleporters but I feel that we the players should be given the choice to use it, if you feel they are wrong, then don't use them. IMHO traveling 15 mins to the other side of the map and running out of stuff and having to fly back or use the respawn is a pain in the ass.
Depends.
We are a robot
and uploading our consciousness into a remotely deposited other robot framework should be a fitting solution for the sci-fi setting.
Just my 2 ยข ๐คช
Portal 2 Coop vibes
Wait, you mean every time I failed I wasn't the same robot, rescued and lovingly reconstructed?! ๐ญ๐ญ
That could be a philosophical question.
If you copy the memories from a robot, is there a real individual mind in the first place?
Also our body renews itself constantly, so technically you become a different person than before.
Teleporters are cheat from one side of view. But it's a must have feature for mega base construction, that saves player time, on mindless running.
I'd say they should be available at the end of tech tree, maybe after a several stages of repeatable endless research.
Because the game should be about exploration, planning, design and construction, not about wasting user time for some repeatable tasks.
There's not much to explore, though. At some point you get the radar scanner system and you know exactly where everything is
By exploration, I was speaking not about running around, but more about exploring possibilities to do things different way, different design. At least in other factory building games, there is no one single way to build your factory "correctly".
Running or flying to a new ore deposit once or twice is okay, but installing a teleporter to avoid repetitive runs to same location is a right move, from my point of view.
