Disconnection Issue | Help! I can't join my friends in Gmod without immediately disconnecting. | Garry's Mod | Page 1

The Problem
After joining a friend via the Steam Shift+Tab menu, I sit on a 10-20 minute long loading screen (Which is normal, even prior to the issue.) once I get into the game I am greeted with "WARNING: Connection Problem. Auto-disconnect in XX.X Seconds" and briefly disconnected. My friend has identical addons as well and it works perfectly fine for him. It shows him that I join the game and I even load in but right after the loading screen goes away I am faced with that message. Does anyone happen to have had this issue and fixed it?

i was playing with him only 2 weeks ago and we were doing fine w no lag
