What’s the Mic Issue?

I just installed Gmod because I want to play on a Star Wars server, but I'm having a problem with the audio. It doesn't recognize my microphone.
I've tried a thousand ways, and now I'm checking to see if it's a driver issue, but that doesn't seem to be the answer.

Let's start by saying that I use a sound management app called SteelSeries. It works great for suppressing noise, but when I press to speak, it detects the audio and doesn't work.

Then I tried configuring it in Options/Voice/Voice Chat Settings. It skips the Steam settings, and it works in the voice section. In the voice input device, I set "Steel Series Microphone," and it picks up my voice, but then, in the in-game voice section, it doesn't pick up my voice.

What I did notice is that if I test the audio from my Gmod in-game and then I test the audio from the voice settings in Steam, my voice is heard, but with an echo.

I'm really going crazy, and this is my first time here. I need help.

Also, I realized that if I speak too loudly, practically shouting, during the audio test, it records what I say on the audio.
