constant stuttering in gmod

For no apparent reason, my game stutters and freezes momentarily every 10-40 seconds.. any fixes?

Try to reinstall the game and change your game to x86 version

And why would changing it to the 32 bit version change anything

and would I still be able to play with x64 players..? Just making sure
