my mic isn't working in game, when I hit "x" to talk the voice box thing doesn't show up at all, my mic is showing on steam I've set it to the correct default device it works everywhere else perfectly but in-game it refuses to register that im using a mic

it also doesn't allow me to use the in game test microphone feature i try to use it and it instantly stops the test

verify files, disable all your addons one by one while checking (you can focus on addons that might've done it if you want to make it a short time) then the last option is redownloading gmod/branch swapping

ive done file verification mutiple times and have done mutiple fresh installs of the game

if you're really desperate for vc, you might want to give it a shot

or if you want a total overkill to fix this, get a new pc

ive just brach swapped and it seeems liked it is working now
