A really nice action anime with great art, animation, writing and direction.
The story unfolds in a word inhabited by ''youmu'' (shades, shadelings...) —creatures said to be born from negative human emotions— that are kept under control by spirit hunters. There, 2 peculiar characters meet: Mirai Kuriyama, the sole survivor of a powerful clan of spirit hunters with the power to employ their blood as a weapon, and Akihito Kambara, an immortal half-shade. Both build an interesting relationship along with other 2 spirit hunters, Mistuki and Hiroomi Nase, while fighting shadelings around them and preparing for the release of the most powerful youmu: the one beyond the boundary.
This anime is one of my personal favorites, and its one of the 1st ones i watched, so it holds a special space in my heart. It offers a nice balance of interesting writing, comedic relief and gorgeous animation, and its a must-watch in my opinion. I strongly recommend it :D
