Surely you can see why this is silly right?
Once your research is done, it provides no benefit and is wasted.
The church/tavern upgrade stays forever and will drastically increase your monetary gain overal, overshadowing the cost of research for sure.
picking between a " buff til X vs buff forever " is fine, if the conditional buff is really over compensated for it being temporary.

If research applied to the lab, it would always be better in skirmish. If it applied to units upgrades it would be better in endless too at 40%
All because the resources saved would take much too long for a few extra churches and taverns to make up
And saving resources early makes you scale exponentially faster
So if this one worked for more than just the research dome it would be really good
And it doesn't even reduce the cost of stone tier research in the dome...
