It seems that the Linux version has been changed to the Windows version.

I have found a solution. I have checked in compatibility tools to use proton. Then I closed the game properties window and reopened it. I went back to compatibility and then unchecked the Proton option. Immediately the game started downloading the correct version, in this case the Linux version.
Just a note, if anyone has graphics problems with the native linux version just force the use of the Vulkan API by setting the launch parameter to "-force-vulkan". It would make sense to use Vulkan by default, as I don't think there is a single Linux gamer left who can't use this API. 12 year old graphics cards can already use it.
