We have Television, but as a licensed Ham operator I can't help but notice the lack of communication over radio frequencies.

Even the "Very Large" cities in SoD are small enough that a low powered AM/FM transmitter (which are not very hard to build) would easily broadcast across the whole city. Very useful to anyone who doesn't wish to be limited to official sources of information exchange.

Besides a source of game lore/fluff with news broadcasts and the like, it could be possible to find notes that indicate to listen on a certain channel at a certain time for a clue.
Example: "Want into Kelly's Arms Dealership? Listen on 93.5"

Additional features:
-Portable sets could need a CZ battery to operate that needs replacing every couple days.
-Enabling ordinary radios to listen in 'pirate' frequencies by installing special tuning crystals: right-click to 'use' on the radio set with item in hand.
-Mousewheel adjusting the frequency
-Dissident broadcasters - warnings about the Fields, arbitrary arrests by the Enforcers, censorship of failing infrastructure, etc. These might be limited to the above 'pirate frequencies'.

I feel like there's a lot to like about this idea that some people might not fully appreciate.

Having some kind of defiant, dissenting pirate radio would sound pretty on-brand for the LEM organisation, who currently have virtually no tangible presence in-game currently besides a scarce few notes, and some graffiti here and there. Contrarily, on the other end of the spectrum, we have the Red Gums, who the player will frequently have run-ins with due to the ritual killings performed by their members.

The fact that a handheld radio could contribute to the actual gameplay AND also serve as an engaging lore/narrative device makes the concept very appealing!
