Making a thread here to archive my case boards from my current save. I'll add details about each case where I can/if I think there was anything particularly interesting

(note: i play with mods)

Case 1: Going to the crime scene, I did not find much evidence (most likely a bug, but who am I to complain about a challenge?) An older woman, killed in her home with a pistol. Sifting through her v-mails, I find one that caught my eye. "Commerce Inc has had it with your corrupt behavior." Another describes a stalker with black hair.

Unfortunately, Commerce Inc must primarily hire goths, because most of the employees had black hair. I decide to look into some of the illegal businesses. At the black market trader, I find a hit. A "Bertrise" who bought pistol ammo shortly before the murder. Bertrise is one of the black haired Commerce Inc workers I found. I track her down and manage to bribe my way into her apartment, where I find a gun with her fingerprints all over it.

I've seen enough. She fits what I'm looking for, so I slap her in some cuffs and turn the case in to city hall.

Case 2: A body found in the building I live in, just two floors down from me. Investigating the crime scene revealed the signature circle pattern of the Red Gums, and a crumpled piece of paper with some sort of puzzle on it. I find some notes and vmails around the apartment, all describing someone with blond hair.

I manage to break into the building's management room, and there, on the floor of the murder, around the time of the murder, I spot someone who matches the description. With no name to put to their face, I print out the photos and their profile and start asking around for a name. Eventually, I happen to find their coworker, who happily tells me their name: Gabin Klein, working at Klein Networks, a loan shark. With this information, I move on to tracking them down.

I get their address (I don't remember how. I probably just looked at their cruncher profile at their workplace) and head over right away. Tapping at the door a few times to make sure no one else is home, I turn off the hallway lights and set to work picking the lock.

Inside, I find all sorts of incriminating evidence. Red Gum Leaflets, diaries describing an unrelenting devotion to Eden Krueger, v-mails confirming an order of 48 Kola every 3 days, a note from a friend begging Gabin to stop associating with this "unsavory group of people", and a vmail from Gabin to a friend detailing the teachings of Uncle Eden (something something spilling blood).

I have all I need. After waiting a while for his coworker to go to the bathroom, I arrest him at his workplace and turn in another complete case.

Case 3: A man found dead in his Echelon apartment with a heart drawn around his body in lipstick—lipstick which was laying right at the crime scene. I find a couple of notes describing a stalker—a female. I don't know much more. But I find another one, a burnt piece of paper reading "Sebastian, ALWAYS". I make special note of that.

Once again, I pay a visit to the building's management room, and I find a lady with black hair hovering around Sebastian's door around the time of the murder. I make note of her and print out the photos (It isn't very often that the security cams are this nice to me).

Deciding to pay a visit to Sebastian's workplace, I find her again. Lara Qualls, the receptionist. In the name of being thorough, I decide to get a guest pass and look over everyone's desk, just to be sure. As I'm investigating, Lara takes off sprinting. Minutes later, another beep on my pager, another crime scene to investigate.

I don't need to. I already know exactly who I'm looking for. Lara's handwriting even matches the note I found. I follow her to her apartment, handcuff her on the stairs, and turn the case in.

That's all I've got for now. Will update in the future. Comments welcome etc

W cases

craggy orchid
#

thank you, thank you

#

i try to approach each case from the perspective of like, I don't know what to expect, I've never seen this before. I could metagame the shit out of each investigation, but like, where's the fun in that?

ik,the cases keep repeating

yeah there's different archetypes they use, and I do hope they add more (or at the very least, another like "structure" that we can use to make custom cases in modding), but as long as you aren't always like "okay, this is a business case, let me scan the fingerprint and- ope teehee i already have that person from my binging of the government database" they stay pretty fun imo

#

honestly the worst thing you can do for your enjoyment of the game is gov database binging. very much turns into "optimizing the fun out of the game"

#

imo, at least

#

i really want support for like, custom murder weapons. Imagine the sorts of things modders could do with the ability to designate anything as the correct murder weapon, or even the ability to have the correct murder weapon just be...nothing. poisoned food, falling, hell, a knitting needle.

yeah,i have seen posts about more murders, i am still waiting for the kidnapping case on realease,

#

the literal post i made before this thread was a meme on this

Case 4: A Woman found dead just a couple floors down from my apartment. A wound from a high caliber bullet, and a shattered window pointing to the neighboring building, Griffith Heights. I don't find many more clues in her apartment. She had some idea she was being watched, but I don't believe she knew how dire her situation was becoming.

I check her workplace. Nothing. I check her doctor's workplace (sometimes victims will email their doctors with a description of their stalker). Still nothing. Out of leads, I head to the weapon dealer. 1 purchase of a Hamilton rifle signed "MS". There's 3 matches in the city directory, one of whom lives in Griffith Heights, so I head there.

Gaining access to the apartment, I find Malak Santacruz. As expected, she has a Hamilton, and I find a note describing a list of residents, one of whom matches our victim.

You know the drill, I put her in cuffs and turn the case in.

I love the idea of logging cases in a thread like this. Very cool

Case 6: Carl Coleman, a receptionist found dead in the middle of the street, with a bullet wound from something high caliber. Unable to find any bullet holes near the body, i head for the victim's apartment. His partner is home and allows me to look around. I find a journal mentioning seeing someone at Verdant (a restaurant) and wanting to talk to a Joon-Woo. I also find a note from the building supervisor mentioning a very tall male.

I don't have much to go on, so I go to the weapon's dealer and look at the most recent rifle purchase, initialed GJ. There's two matches in the city directory, so I note both down and head for the first: Gary Johnson.

My suspicions are proven correct; he's exactly who i'm looking for: a very tall male. I gain access to his apartment and take a look around: Notes describing his accolades in marksmanship, a diary describing the victim as a "suspect", and, most importantly, a hamilton rifle.

Case 7: This starts a bit differently, with me seeing a man, covered in blood, walking on the street. I go in the direction he was coming from and start asking around for anyone who saw something unusual. One mentions seeing someone in Griffin heights, so I go there and start knocking on doors until one of them gives me an address: 502 Griffin Heights. I head there and ask to be let in, only to be denied, even as I increase the bribe (I prefer a pacifist route whenever possible). I decide, fuck it, i'll wait for the cops.

The ping comes up a second later, and I head to the crime scene. A business card, a straight razor—both with fingerprints, A v-mail saying "Elamo solutions has had it with your corrupt behavior".

Reviewing Elamo Solutions in my notebook, I find the name of the man I saw again: Thatcher Sessoms. I set to work tracking him down, finding his address, and finalizing the case. His fingerprints match, and I saw him covered in blood; that's about as concrete as it gets.

#

Case 8: Another business case, Elizabeth Soto killed inside her home. After scouring the crime scene for clues and finding, most importantly, a business card and a threatening v-mail from Accountment Company, I decide to check the CCTV around the time of the murder, finding a Luciana Navarro. I search her name in the resident database. No hits—she doesn't live here. I decide to find her and pay her a visit

#

Case 9: I'll let my board speak for itself on this one

(additional note: griffith heights and griffin heights are the same place, i'm just dyslexic)
