C: Seriously, with those floors being flooded, there's no reason whatsoever for the player to go down there. No NPCs go there, there's nothing worth stealing, you can't get anywhere else from there, and you get smelly just for visiting.

C: Just... do something about the sub-basements, please.

Also given the propensity to clip through higher floors randomly and land in the poop water D:

considering we can see the ocean, and we can see it is lower,.

Why is it flooded?

Yeah but why not dump it in the ocean? I dont see fish on the menu anywhere.

And its ocean water, we caant drink it, andits already polluted to hell

Yeah, those section do seem completely pointless.
I would get if there was some sort of persuit system, where if you're close to tracking down a suspect they might go into hiding, and might sometimes hide down there. But right now NPC's won't go anywhere near those areas.

Back before this update with Fathoms buildings, I was under the impression that in lore the basements were the fathoms, and that the B2 levels were supposed to be connected with a whole undersociety down there.

NPCs can actually go to B -2. A rare occurence but the tail & acquisition side job can generate a handover meeting in a B -2 location.

I like second basements because finding them for the first time and curiously exploring them is spooky

I’m cautiously optimistic that the Missing Persons Content update that comes with the 1.0 release would make extensive use of B-2.

Especially if they implement hidden (i.e. not visible in the map) linked basement tunnels at the B-2 level. Or have a whole hidden B-3 level, the entrance to which you need to scour the B-2 level to discover.

I was thinking the b-2s were like Futuramas old new York. Rising water levels and pollution caused old new York to be abandoned, leaving the old area to be stripped and abandoned.

But hey, secret tunnels and black market areas down there would be neat

I agree. I dislike basements being flooded, specifically when theres a lost item and I spend so much time trying to find the item

Like, old street level boarded up and bricked over when everything got regraded (presumably due to rising tides in this case)

The only time I've seen the B-2 area utilised is when I was beaten up and mugged, and I spawned in a B-2 bathroom, I guess to hide (or drown😵‍💫 ) my body haha

#

If they ever add a feature where killers will attempt to hide the body, B-2 is a perfect place since no one goes down there 😄

Since they made it a feature of an update, there must be some functionality that will come out of them. Maybe there will be vent systems between basements of buildings (from the older days). I agree that it would be great for hiding bodies. Too bad the player cannot drag bodies around... move elevator to top floor out of the way, open elevator cage, push body in... no mess...

true we cannot kill, but still hoping....

I understand that killing where it is not calculated in the game may break something. The city has a set number of citizens and bumping off some may throw things out of wack, but still hoping.
