More Murder Methods

• Food Poisoning: The killer adds poison to an NPC's meal, causing them to die some time later. You'd need to figure out where and when the victim ate their poisoned meal, then hope you can get information on who was there when it happened, and try to find the perp that way. The time delay means that victims could theoretically drop dead after you catch the killer, and you could maybe save people who've been poisoned already by getting them to go to the hospital.

• Arson: It's going to be rather hard to find fingerprints if the killer did their work by chucking a molotov into the victim's apartment (presumably the building's got barriers to prevent fire from spreading between apartments? May also need to implement a fire department.)

• Spree Killer: Fuck waiting a day before killing again, this guy's going to knock people off their list the instant their next target is alone. Gonna leave a fuckload of evidence behind, but solving this one is rather more urgent than for a normal killer.

• Lynching: That guy made a lot of enemies, they were all there at the time, and they're all covering for each other. Good luck figuring out which one was the actual instigator.

• One-Off: Not a serial killer, this murderer only ever kills one person. Thing is, they can interrupt another killer's streak and muddy the waters.

• Drone Fuck: Murder weapon: remote control plane fitted with explosives. Plays out slightly similar to a sniper case, but with more shrapnel to pick through at the impact site, and less evidence at the launch site.

People would see them depending on where the molotov is thrown, assuming they throw it inside they will most likely get caught by a camera or seen running off by the fire department (assuming that comes with arson), or if they throw the molotov through a window its almost gauranteed a random person sees them and reports them to an enforcer, and lets not forget about the absurd amount of cameras that can be found outside too??

I think another good idea is a copy cat killer which is similar to the one off but they can kill more than once. So they get inspiration from the active killer and go murder someone in the same way for the same reason so it could be more confusing than a one off killer

And instead of explosive drones it could just be they set up an improvised explosive device to explode their victim, it could be a parcel sent through the mail or hidden in their apartment. Then you could investigate the black marker to see if anyone’s purchased a bomb or see if anyone’s bought a lot of stuff like fertiliser (people do have plants in their homes so somewhere should sell fertiliser). As evidence you could find a recipe or a kit that’s used to make bombs
