Sometimes you can follow a lead to an apartment and when you knock the room mate answers. You can ask them if they know this person (the one you want to talk to) and they will say 'yes they are here right now!' but theres no options to ask them 'can i speak to them'. You can even see them walking in the background but if you go in to try to ask them questions they will beat you up lol. Being able to ask to speak to the other person would be awesome. Happens in businesses too

Yeah, I noticed this and I was like why can't I ask for that person, that person IS RIGHT THERE behind you! I hope the developers add this

I support this option, if we also add the chance that the person to whom you’re speaking has a chance to reject your request: after all, it fits in with how detectives in a noire setting encounter resistance, and also reflects the fact that some folks are simply jerks! 😅

I ended up having to give away all the money I had left just to enter the room, just to have a 10 second conversation with the guy I couldn't talk to, because the person that answered the door wouldn't let me in

maybe it could be part of the "do you know this person" dialogue option, and if theyre there with them right now theyd give you a really short guest pass
