Have the devs considered rendering the characters in a 90's voxel style?
It can be done with a shader now: https://github.com/jamie-pate/govox
I think the characters would look nicer in this style and it would retain the general voxel 'vibe'

Uhhh i think the game is too far in dev to change its artstyle
Was just gonna say that. It would be too much effort for too little gain to completely change the game art style when time could be spent on more important things.
shadows of habbo
Lmao
If they are using a voxel editor to make characters it wouldn't be a huge job, rerigging them would be the worst part.
If the team is tiny enough it's obviously not an option
It would be good as a low graphics option. Since it will replace all those cubes with billboards that are far simpler to render. It would also work well as a low LOD for distant things.
I think it just looks nicer.. cube based voxels always have weird shadows everywhere and deform weird when animated
...would this also change the world?
b/c i feel like these characters in sods current map design would just be extremely out of place
Doesn’t look that great
