#What do people think about a "rival" detective?

I don't mean PVP, but an AI detective who is also "on the case" and kind of works as a secondary timer.

This would solve a few purposes.

  1. Give the player incentive to focus on a case until it's solved. Yes, I know that multiple homicides is also an incentive, but I also think that the idea that EVERY killer becoming a serial killer is farfetched.

  2. If a killer is a serial killer, they might solve the second case faster.

  3. The rival detective might be ruthless and even attack you or actively try and remove/withhold evidence to keep you from solving it. Meaning you might need to find a way to discover if he does have evidence or just make solving it a bit harder.

  4. The detective could be a freelancer like you OR even be a cop. This could be randomly decided when the city is generated.

  5. It adds variety and character to the game. Like serial killing, it could be a random timer before he solves the case, or, they would basically play similarly to the player, except, maybe they don't break the law. If they are government, they might first need to get a warrant to search private areas and such.

  6. If for whatever reason, the player finds a case unsolvable, this secondary timer would be a way for the game to end a case and let the player start with a fresh case if it takes them too long. Like another failsafe if the random generation makes it too hard, or bugs cause evidence to spawn inside a piece of furniture or something.

As long as it’s optional.

Yeah, as an optional feature this would be amazing
