Right now whenever I find the crumbled up paper (it seems to show up for pretty much every case) that has this note, giving me a scrambled up first initial and full last name, all I have to do is spend some time combing the phone book to solve the case. This isnt fun. The note should be much rarer, but I think the main change should be to the information it gives you. Maybe if it gave a scrambled first name, and then the initial of the last name, it would allow you to narrow down suspects without just letting you look at the phone book.

Change the "Let's play" note

It'd be cool to see something so much more enticing than just the phone book method.

Like a messed up version of their apartment building, apartment number, workplace, etc

fuck it

caesar ciphered morze code

#

with a few letter missing from the word

#

(at that point it would be faster to just find the fingerprints and raid all of the employment records)

It was suggested once that the name be the next victim, not the killer

i thought killer's victims are procedurally generated

#

thus you can't foresee who's the next one

The save file does store the next victim iirc, but no more than that

Could also just have a killer who uses more complex ciphers on their name, but that should probably be its own thing & not a part of the red gum cult killing

anything other than what we have right now would be better

#

just removing it would be better

theres no point in doing anything when you can just look in the phonebook
