Yeah, you heard me. I want to kick people into things in first person; channel that Dark Messiah-barhouse brawl energy. Combat currently feels a little bit lacking, and any first person game with melee combat in it is IMMEDIATELY improved by having the ability to kick.
A recent example I really enjoyed is from the demo for Fortune's Run, which incorporated (very light) fighting game elements like situational unarmed attacks (flying/crouching kicks, etc.) and enemies doing high and low blocks. Maybe that's outside the scope of this game, but I think it's worth considering as a means to help combat feel less stale and repetitive.
