It is, frankly, a bit absurd to me, that in a game with a thirst mechanic buying a sink for your apartment is purely cosmetic.

There is a water cooler that gives you the "drink" prompt, but it doesn't seem to reduce your thirst meter. I think it's a bug; you should be able to drink from the water cooler too.
