You're an investigator, every single detail counts. You wouldn't want to miss anything, and you also wouldn't want to make a mess out of your case board, would you?
I believe that, along with the starter equipment, the player should have a small notebook and pen to take notes, separately from cases. I know that there's a sticky note feature, and yes, my suggestion is supposed to replace that. Writing down the address of an apartment you plan on buying in the corner of a murder case is unprofessional, after all.
Picture yourself walking up to someone's door, knocking, and being attended, while holding down a notebook and pen. You ask them for information on a suspect, and it seems they were last seem leaving the Mciver Terrace building at around 4:30pm. Having the notebook equipped, you could take notes while still talking to the witness. End the conversation,** remove that page** and then pin it on the case board.

The controls have in mind for the notebook, when equipped;
RMB - Remove page
╚ That would then focus on the page, giving the prompts:
RMB - Throw away [page #] (would dispose if targeting trash bin)
LMB - Pin on board
LMB - Raise [Notebook]/Return [Notebook]
╚ Having the notebook raised would allow the player to physically write down on the notebook (please, not a GUI 🥺)
MMB↕ - Next [page #]/Previous [page #]
