So right now, as much as I dearly love the game, the inventory system is very bare-bones and lacking.
If instead of a red screen with red icons, we could have a more "Tetris" style inventory, I think that would add a lot more depth to the inventory system itself and allow more Misc. items to be picked up/used.

What I mean by this: Look up the inventory for games like Diablo 1/2, or Path of Exile. So for example, an enforcer baton, could take up a 1x3 slot in your inventory, where as something smaller like an Eraser(if it were useful), could take up a 1x1 slot. 2x1 slot for Handcuffs, you get the idea.

This way, items you interact with, use, and/or pickup/drop, would have 'weight' to them, and feel more real, and give the player certain choices such as: "Do I carry my baton, body armor, & a few other things with me for this trip, or do I just bring a few meds and splints, just in case I screw up and get the crap beat out of me?"

This leaves the player with choosing to bring important items like handcuffs, food, meds, etc, while leaving behind bigger, more defensive/useful items, and so they need to make a choice.

You could go even one step further and add weight to each item, so you eventually cannot carry too much anyways, but I doubt many people would like that(I'd love it, but I also love changes that make the game harder/more challenging).

Either way, I think the inventory system needs an overhaul and needs to be more than just a red screen with same-y red icons.

Yes please I really dislike the inventory at its current state and would love to see improvements made to it

#

Maybe also being able to see your character in the middle and changing your clothing to disguise yourself if others recognise you

Something like this, is an excellent example:

Now obviously, we don't need THAT many items, but this is just an example of how you could move items around in your inventory, and have them actually take up a realistic piece of space "on your person".

#

Visually, it would also help, because you could see, or know right where your Enforcer Baton is, or some other item, etc etc.

#

We have full animations for the character eating/drinking, and that feels very immersive, so the inventory needs to feel realistic/good as well, to add too the immersion.

What's this game?

Also,
The baton Should be a 4x1, with the 2nd pixel being a block, so it's an line with a dick

Any shotgun or rifle being 3 long, or 4 long

The pistol being a 2 long with a handle, depending on what it is,
Med being 1x1, unless it's a split then it's a 2x1 because it's ment to go on leg

Beef case being 3x2

Could not agree more. A traditional inventory manager would be great.
