As in the title - break ins, thefts, vandalism. Maybe some citizen wants to steal money from a business? Someone broke into someone else's home and trashed it? You could maybe ask the victim if anything is missing and you could get a bonus if you retrieve it. Burglars and vandals could have motives for their crimes. Maybe they wore a mask or erased surveillance after the deed?
Those could be some fun side jobs I think.

Find who broke the door, stole all the goodies, breaked the window and apparently went out from the 19th floor flat window.
Move to the flat and remembering that it was you a half a day ago 😅
For me it is more logical for the detective to investigate such cases, not sing up to do these crimes instead

And another layer. Because of side jobs we know that such criminal actions can be ordered by someone else. So maybe in some cases more logical to find not only an executor, but the person who ordered it instead
