#Let Murderers Make Mistakes/Matchbooks Tied to Specific Bars

Originally, this was going to be a suggestion to allow people who smoked and frequented a specific bar (or even worked there!) to have a matchbook from that bar in their house or on their person, etc. The idea would be to give us investigators a lead into what haunts they frequented, however as I was writing this out I thought, "What if the murderer accidently left something (say a matchbook with a bar's name on it) at the scene of the crime instead of just their specific calling card?" It would be an interesting lead to follow up on, and could end up with the investigator deciding to stake out the bar or even break in to check the CCTV footage.

What do you lot think about this? Good idea, bad idea?

New form of evidence to make more exotic cases appear

That's the idea, instead of always having a killer with an obvious gimmick and calling card, let it be something a bit more subtle. You find an odd matchbook with the name of a bar in an apartment with someone who doesn't smoke, etc.

would also give purpose to things like Matchbooks

which is a subtle nod to the old school crime things

I feel like this makes a lot of sense, the first thought I had when I first saw a match book was, Oh I need to work out where this came from

This is really two different suggestions, but I definitely support branded matchbooks as another legit clue thread to follow.

It is, which, honestly, my bad. But I couldn't really suggest it for being a clue thread for murderers without them also being able to leave behind other pieces of "accidental" evidence

Just didn't seem right otherwise, you know?

I find this is a really cool idea. At the current moment i feel like the game is not really playing into the npc's quirks enught when it comes to murder cases. If you have seen one crime scene you have seen them all, just diffrent fingerprints lol.

But if you find that the door was smahed down and the victim was beaten to death with a dumbell, well then you know that your looking for someone who is muscular, and probobly hangs around gyms.

Way more engaging then the old "lets see which person in this contacts book have matching fingerprints"

If they like to smoke, by all means have them leave a cigarette butt in or near the appartment. Maybe it has lipstick on it, narrowing down the search even more. Would be a cool way to tie a suspect to the crime scene

Matchbooks coming from places they've visited recently is a great idea
