#Move some items to the Black Market

Having everything you'd ever need neatly in the Main Hall is too convenient. Make it so you'd have to visit the Black Market to buy things like Codebreaker, a set of lockpicks and a bloodhound tracker.

Let the seller jack up the prices overtime (I'm thinking in thousands) unless you do favors for them. That way you'd have to be more mindful of how you spend those resources and the Main Hall would stop being a Walmart for burglars.

Definitely want fluctuating prices in the black market. Something something supply and demand. And if you see a tool you use often at a decent price, you might want to stock up and hope you get a return later down the line.

More decisions is better

I could also see the player able to break into "evidence," a place that could be added, to get free items every day. As code breakers don't seem very legal for pedestrians to have.

Also generally think handcuffs should be more expensive. It's already a profit when used to arrest someone, but there's also the insane utility it brings in a lot of situations(if you're playing somewhat pacifist)

Handcuffs price is purely an economy question. If you think about it, you only get a bonus of 350 for detaining the suspect.

winged vine
#

I'd say maybe 100-150 for handcuffs.

The cuffs I think are 25

#

I think you earn 250 to 350 for arrests.

grizzled star
#

Couldnt remember if it was 25 or 35 but that sounds about right

#

But yeah, too cheap IMO

torpid tide
#

That's a bit off topic, I wouldn't say handcuffs themselves is the problem. Maybe there should be a penalty for detaining innocent people.

grizzled star
#

Yea it is off topic. Sorry for derailing x)

#

And agree

Get some zip tie handcuffs, pros: cheap and you can buy the supplies to get them from your local hardware store. cons, people can actually break out of them eventually.

grizzled star
#

Should be penalties for just about everything you're "not supposed to do". In game legally speaking

30 min maybe

grizzled star

And maybe zipties dont count for arrest bonus

#

But I like the idea

#

Esp if handcuffs are priced higher

winged vine

Trying to think what else would go good in a black market.

To be fair. I never carry more then two pair. One at home and one in my pocket.

torpid tide
#

True

torpid tide
winged vine
#

I could see handcuffs being a black market item and zipties being bought at the store.

#

Only because what cops would sell professional handcuffs to citizens. XD

torpid tide
#

Those aren't cops

wheat cargo
#

I could also see handcuffs being a item you can buy from enforcers if say you have a friend there or know a guy who is willing to give you goods from their supply for cash

torpid tide
#

that's the thing

winged vine
#

Public handcuffs are normally cheap knockoffs

#

Government.

#

You know what I mean. XD

#

Just saying from experience most governments wouldn't sell handcuffs to civs.

Or to buy items from the Enforcer cache you need to have the proper license. Which of course you can get... for a fee

torpid tide
#

I guess, then again in an alternative future where the government is owned by a Coca-Cola company, I don't see why they would care about who gets to buy handcuffs

So early game you have to rely and crappy equipment, but later on when you have the money to sink into it you could get access to enforcer equipment

#

getting off track though 😄

winged vine
#

Yeah. So maybe you could but a magnet that can break through safes but it takes a lot longer.

#

Then in the black market you get a code breaker.

#

It's still on track. Just expanded on.

torpid tide
#

I'd say different grades of equipment deserves it's own entry in the suggestion box

#

Imagine a codebreaker that takes from ten minutes to half an hour to actually get the password

winged vine
#

We often expand on new ideas in threads. Just talking about possibilities. After all, you need code words for access to the underground and you'd need ways to still use these items before you get access to the black market.

torpid tide
#

or a codebreaker that just fries the lock without giving you the password

winged vine
#

So to move stuff to the black market you need lower tier stuff. It's connected.

#

I think that would be a magnet.

torpid tide
#

Or the one that installs a backdoor on PC, giving you the access to it from your apartments

winged vine
#

Locks like that can often be opened with a magnet. I know too much about locks due to LPL.

torpid tide
#

Loud even

wheat cargo
#

Code breaker - Can break into any coded lock (doors, safes, computers0
Thermite Cutter - Can break into coded doors and Safes but of course leaves a lot of evidence, loud as hell

winged vine
#

I mean most extreme would be an explosive which would be loud. XD

#

Could be funny to see everyone rush to see what happened haha.

'Enforcers? I just heard an explosion from my neighbors house'
