As of right now, decor mode has some bugs making it mostly unusable to create good apartment layouts. Here's some suggestions:

  1. Some items still place upside down, for example the city directory and lamp.

  2. Desk lamps immediately tip over upon being placed, since they have an overhang.

  3. Items are at a fixed distance from the player character, which means we can't place them on tables correctly without hopping onto the table and angling ourselves just right. A solution to this would be to use the scroll wheel to move them closer or further.

By the way. I placed down a phone and I could only walk backwards when trying to place it. Really feels like it should be furniture instead of an item.

But the phone book and phone definitely need to be peaceable easier. I couldn't place them exactly where I wanted.

Safe also was wonky to place an item in it.

And I had to restart to get the safe working yesterday. Haven't tested since update.

I have tried dropping it on the ledge of the phone stand to flip it over

but yes I noticed some items have a very small hitbox and very one-sided
