#Add capitalism to crime scenes

I rate this idea, though i would make it a fair whack more in terms of cost, over the usual. would say it starts at like 400crows with it being random number above that
meaning that sometimes, you just gotta break in
I have wanted to pay to check out crime scenes. This could be a very expensive thing though as it removes a lot of difficulty.
Normally detectives work with cops and the fact these guys won't work with you at all feels it should be a money requirement to get in.
Mhm, expensive, another Crowsink
Though again, for balance, id make it cost quite a bit.
Example
Standard citizens start at what, 50Cr?
so make enforcers start at 500Cr
It would definitely put a dent in the 2000cr you normally make. I think 500 is a good amount.
It would
it gives you the option
Do i shell out to get in properly
Or do i risk the vents
Honestly. The game kinda advertises as being able to work in the law. So it would be good to have a lawful option.
Could even be cheaper if you had the relationship system mentioned in another thread. If the cop likes you, the cost is reduced some or won't go up.
indceed
If this can enable you to solve cases in half the time relatively consistently, then the price should be higher IMO.
Maybe tie this bribe to economic difficulty settings if that gets implemented
This could maybe be adjustable in the world settings. ("Enforcer prices" slider)
Maybe pay a big fee every few days to be registered as a contractor with Starch Cola and be allowed access to all crime scenes
Or tie it to murder reward. (Registered contractors only get 50% of the reward and need to hand in more mandatory evidence)
Just gotta keep in mind every case gives about 2000 so 500 already cuts the money you gain by a fourth and that isn't including handcuffs. Half seems like a lot and the 500 mentioned is the starting price. It could easily go up to 1000 when the guy says no multiple times.
If the starting price was 1000 it would not be worth it.
And if it's like the office thing. You have the two hour time limit on top of that.
1000 does make it dubious, but 500 kind of makes it trivial. I understand that the price can go up if they decline.
But a bribe like this should be you gambling on time-to-profit. I would like 500 more if a murder scene didn't give solid leads very often. Then it would be more of a gamble. But because of how much information you can gather from the scene, and how much time/hassle you can save, 500 seems a bit cheap IMO.
I like the idea of paying a recurring fee, for less rewards, for easier access to the scene though.
Most people never accept on the first one. It should be a lucky situation and again, 500 is a lot. Losing a fourth of your money can already be terrible, especially if you end up getting it wrong.
Thinking that most of the it will end up being 750 or 1000 I feel it's balanced well.
With that logic, yeah, that feels fine. Especially if there are money-sinks implemented like rent and stuff, then considering giving up even 500 for a more convenient investigation will be a decision to make too.
I really want rent 🙏
maybe pay all the guards 400-1000 on the crime scene to go in for 2h, if you pay one of them he would be ok with you, but others may have an issue. and then ther start shooting and one you payd joins him 😄
Truncheon only costs 100, gets me into every crime scene no problem
Bribes are oft discussed, and thematically make sense!
But as is, it makes getting the right evidence we need (most often atm a fingerprint) as ez as accessing the database. (Very easy)
If the evidence we find can be nerfed correctly so we have to build a profile then it wont be so bad to get access to a crimescene no worry of tresspass.
Beats the current strat of just arriving before the enforcers and bribing your way in through the victim's partner
cough cough
Both options are good.
ANd bribing works when there is no partner to get permission from/ murder happens outside of a home
naturally
but then we're also implying that getting into crime scenes isn't already easier than the password hint being "count up from 1" anyway
we're just pretending its hard right now

lol
Definitely something to be considered and discussed as the game develops into something more complicated/complete.
Needs to be pricier than 150, but yeah I'd have it start somewhere around 500, so it's really a choice if you wanna pay or sneak in sometimes.
