when I started playing the game, I was sure that such mechanics existed in it, but I was wrong. I think this is quite an obvious decision to allow players to look into the windows of neighboring houses with binoculars and just into the windows nearby (you can climb to some windows on the first floor, as you know). Of course, I understand that this may not be easy to implement within the framework of the game, but such a system, in my opinion, would be very appropriate given how much of the game world is occupied by houses
#binocular system?

would be fun if you can buy a set of binoculars (which of course fills out inventory) or you have the option to find a syncdisk to give your eyes binocular powers.
part of the game trailer does show taking pictures of one apartment from across the street so I hope we see more of this kinda detective work.
A simple "press to zoom" button is one of my favorite things in games. Like the optifine zoom in minecraft, where you just slightly zoom your view in when you press a button. Binoculars would be cool!
This is what I was looking for. Especially nice when you're sitting in a diner waiting for someone to leave their apartment building. I can see the person through the window and should be able to identify them the same way within a certain range, maybe with a button when sitting down that lets you focus your view and tells you the name (if available) when you look at someone close enough.
I just got a 17th floor apartment and spent way too long watching lights going on and off in the neighboring buildings while wishing that I had binoculars. Imagine being nosy about your neighbors and then witnessing a murder
binoculars, or binocular eye power, would be such a good fit in this game.
Or if we could get the camera to have a zoom feature etc.
I would love this feature, but it might never happen. This would be hard to do with the current state of the game, since citizens aren’t actually simulated when they’re that far away. They ignore collision and simplify their pathfinding to ease up the load on the processor. If you could see them, an entire building would need to be simulated in finer detail so nobody is phasing through the kitchen counter.
