My suggestion is to like message link previews, to make reply previews also optional.
I also suggest since modern Discord makes the link compact, it won't be removed to preserve where it's located and same for the normal reply, that last thing doesn't need to be optional.

The difference is
1 when turned off, using nqn emojis it forgets to reply to where it was originally replied to in the normal way and
2 when turned on, you can't choose to have both original and nqn functionality.
