I think it would be nice to have a docks building that we could build in our claims (next to water, obviously).
These docks could be used to store/park our boats and eventually also allow us to auto sail to other docks.
There could be a similar restriction on it as TP, where you first have to visit the other docks before you unlock it.
Obviously both docks would need to be on a connected body of water as well.
Because pathfinding across the entire map might be a bit too hard/costly, there could be a range limit, making it so you'd have to make multiple stops for longer voyages.
This would make hauling cargo a bit easier, and it would encourage some more traveling around.
(If no automated sailing, at least having docks would be a nice thing to park our boats in.)
