I have had a similar map-opening delay in the last couple of days - late June: when I press M, the map zoom-out begins with a very zoomed-in view of my map location, but the zoom out and rotation is stepped over a couple or three seconds - particularly the first few frames of the zoom-out

Map opening was much quicker for me 2...3 days ago
