The amount of crop oil produced from starbulb processing seems oddly lower than other rare ingredient drops for making refined items. Most batches of 10 starbulb plants at T1 yield no crop oil despite that the output from ONE starbulb plant could be zero or one. Thus, in the Glomspire market, where citric berries are 2 hexcoin, crushed shells are 3 hexcoin, Braxite is 5 and gypsite is 20, straw is 17 and animal hair is 20; a single crop oil commands 25, and it is probably a good deal at that price.

Agreed, I did ~10 Starbulb runs yesterday and got 3 Crop Oil. Today I have done ~8 and received 2 Crop Oil :(
Meanwhile my friend has crafted 30 of the refined materials (Metal, Cloth and Leather) for our settlement. It's so demoralising I will probably take a break in a bit if this rate continues. Currently in Ironrest
devs are not very intelligent about how they frame a variety of random-number-driven outcomes. It runs throughout the game and this is just one example. A random number generator that gives a very even distribution of values between zero and one - and therefore over thousands upon thousands of "rolls", can be totally inapproriate for delivering integer outcomes in small sample sizes. They only address these issues when the issues fly into their face - which means bugs will be eternal; produced by their same lack of understanding as they apply wrong logic over and over in different places. 😢
