With the mining ruins i saw a note that said that you could go through them if only you could "see a safe path to mine through it". Is there a craftable item i need in order to go through these ruins without them collapsing? like glasses or something?

If it is the ruin I'm thinking of, you don't need any item for it beyond the ability to break the rubble (which is just a profession tool, pickaxe I think).
I'll add my hint in spoiler tags, just in case. || Look at all the platforms and think about what makes some similar and what makes some different. There's a path there. ||
