Submitted last minute before the deadline (about 5 minutes), Duckies adds two buildings that serve as an alternative to beehives, available to both factions!

New Buildings

  • Duck Nest: A simple nest, this is the mod's analogue to the beehive. While it has a lower growth boost, it covers all 48 crops in its 7x7 range.
  • **Duck House: ** A larger (2x2) home for the ducks, the duck house has a massive 14x14 range covering 192 crops. It doesn't quite apply its boost to every crop every cycle, so you could safely use up to 10 of those tiles without losing any efficiency.
    They have a lower boost than the beehive to offset the lack of a bee sting and also the fact they have a more consistent coverage of their range.

Both buildings spawn ambient ducks using the particle system (like beehives and bees)!

The ducks don't have any animation for now (I ran out of time to implement it) and will simply swim/slide around the terrain in the area of their home building. They help to make your crop fields and waterways look more alive, and they don't mind the badtides at all (they're immune to it).

A video! Note that this video was filmed before I finalized their spawning, so in game you will generally see more ducks that don't jump around as much.
