Building Decals came back to Timberborn V1 with a new name: Building Banners! Give your buildings some style: you can decorate any building in Timberborn with custom images. Flags, emblems, clan symbols, warning signs, memes - whatever you want! And best of all, you can put them directly on any building!

  • Add unlimited banners to any building: The mod uses the same source of images as the in-game banners so you can subscribe to wonderful banners mods on Steam Workshop and use them in your game, or use your own file! Works with any PNG file (supports transparency). You can even add holes or cutouts. Uses 256 PPU (Pixels Per Unit): a 256ร—256px image matches a 1ร—1 building, but you can freely scale them.
  • Rotate, scale, and position banners anywhere. You can also Flip and Tint banners.
  • Copy & paste banner setups between buildings.

This is a compiled pre-release version. I created this so those who want to try it can try and give me a few screenshots so I can officially release it on Steam and mod.io ๐Ÿ™‚ (install by unzipping it to Documents\Timberborn\Mods\ like you have downloaded from mod.io)

DLL is platform-agnostic I think. so as long as you can scan it on any platform?

I really like the fact you can customize the whole positioning and scale of these images

so you can design it with "holes" matching buildings as well!

btw, the mod put 128PPU (Pixels per unit), so a 128x256 image for example, will scale 1:1 to a 1x2 size building.

but you can always scale it up or down, up to you ๐Ÿ™‚

@trim matrix Hello, I will check the system, possibly reinstall Win 11 on the PC tomorrow and see if it is possible after that.

However, I'm not entirely sure if I'll do everything tomorrow, so it may take a few days.

It really is only this file that is blocked, unfortunately I have no idea where it is located or what kind of virus it could be.

thats enough for me today, the possibilities are endless.

However, similar with Hue and Turn you currently have to import these decals for every single building individually. If you want to make for example a wall, it would be nice if you can copy/paste decals from one building to another. Just like you can copy/paste settings with Hue and Turn

Speaking of Hue & Turn, have you considered moving all the settings to a separate tab that you can click on instead of having them below?

And that you would have two or three color fields per object... So that it's not uniformly colored, but the base color, flags, railings, and the like get another color field.

also I am making templates for Lumberjack Flag and Gatherer Flag so you can put decal over their banners

any other building I should make custom template? (if you are playing as emberpelt you probably don't see custom template for Path right now, but there is for it and Barriers so you can quickly put it on top)

one thing I noticed is that there is no scrollbar in the decal menu. If you're too eager and add too many different decals, at one point you will no longer be able to see the buttons at the top

@dire void not sure if it will work but I wonder if you can now make nice glass windows using semi-transparent PNG? like putting alpha to be something in between 0 and 255

I am noticing some clipping issues on certain camera angles when two decals are placed on top of eachother. do you know why this happens? this even happens when there is an obvious gap between the two decals

I think you can feel free to do so. If I understand correctly, it would be workshop entries with Decal tag, but with your mod marked as dependency, as they won't work on their own

yep but like you said, it's kinda supported. I can't remember why I wanted that before. I think for consistent ID so you can share. but then with JSON file, you already have consistent ID (I think)

purpose = like above, if a player want to share their building blueprint with decal, they need to share their decals too.

What I think he is asking for, is for top level Tags for Blueprints and Decals, like there are now for Mod and Map. That way, when you browse for mods, you don't also get all the blueprints that are now tagged as Mod. Right now, you select "Mod" to only list mods, and that includes uploaded blueprints, if at some point in the future there are 5000 blueprints and 400 mods, finding the true mods will be impossible.

In the decal mod, you can only adjust the figures with "scale" and move them left/right, forward/backward, up/down. But for a better fit, without going crazy, there should also be stretch controls, like you can for objects, etc. Will you modify it?

if you only care about the front side, you already have the ability to change the position of your decal, in order to hide the pieces sticking out

sometimes it only takes a difference of 0.01 or 0.02 to achieve the desired resulrt
